I'm Liz Tisdale, a hairstylist based in Astoria, Oregon. I've been a proud Oregonian for 23 years, and a professional stylist for 18 years. I absolutely love the art of hairdressing and want to share my passion with you. I feel it is important (and inspirational) to stay abreast of current looks and trends, and actively seek continuing education. I did my apprenticeship at an Aveda salon and spa, and have recieved eduction from Bumble + Bumble, Kevin Murphy, Davines, Goldwell, Rusk, Wella, Paul Mitchell, American Crew and many more. I have experience in many aspects of the industry, working as a lead stylist, in salon management, and behind the scenes at fashion shows. In 2013 I partnered with 2 amazing stylists, and we opened CHELSEA salon in Portland.
In late 2015 my husband and I were able to move to beautiful Astoria, OR. The natural beauty found around every corner in Astoria and peaceful pace of life have only served to inspire me further, and in January 2016, I founded Hygge Hair Co. From natural to fashion forward, I aspire to create a wearable look to flatter each unique face. I consider my work to be a collabrative experience shared with my clients. I am full of ideas, but I always take your needs into consideration to give you a one of a kind look that you love. I can't wait to meet you!
My love affair with hair begins really, with my grandfather. As a child, I was fortunate enough to sit in on his art classes, many of which were taught in his own backyard. This unique opportunity inspired a life long attraction to the arts.
My formal education begins with an associates degree in graphic design. The focus on fine art techniques and design concepts have provided a solid foundation for my true passion … hair styling!
I received my education at Paul Mitchell academy and apprenticed at an Aveda-focused salon. Now, 10 years later, my pursuit of knowledge is never quenched. I regularly attend industry-related events and classes, staying on track with styles and trends. To sum it up, I love what I do!
